Originally from Norfolk, where he worked extensively in agriculture, ultimately running a major independent farmer’s cooperative buying group, Andrew moved to Hampshire when he had the opportunity to further his career internationally in 1993. He moved to King’s Somborne in 2000 with his partner, now wife, Ute.

Since 2001 he established a simple buying group for his immediate neighbours to purchase heating oil more effectively, but also bottled gas and other services. He was one of the founder members of the Community Responders Group in the village and has been a committee member of the Parish’s Neighbourhood Watch Scheme since 2003 which he currently chairs. Andrew first stood for election for the Parish Council back in 2007 and became a councillor in 2011, and Vice Chairman 3 years later.

Having worked with a major international tobacco company in a varied career that has also seen him involved in a number of roles in supply chain and commercial management both here and overseas, Andrew retired in 2015. He hopes to leverage this business experience for the benefit of the local community and is currently championing King Somborne Parish Council’s efforts on the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Andrew’s other interests where time permits include, cycling, shooting, fishing, gardening and flying (and rebuilding!) model helicopters. He can also often be seen in the village trimming the banks of the Borne!
