Consultation on Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople DPD
The Council has a responsibility to plan for the housing needs of all residents, including the Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople community under The Housing and Planning Act 2016. In response to this requirement, the Council proposes a Gypsy & Traveller Development Plan Document to accompany the Local Plan.
All Development Plan Document are required to go through a sustainability appraisal process. The first stage of the process is to consider the scope of the exercise, which is presented in the form of a scoping report. The scoping report considers environmental, social and economic baseline data but does not allocate sites, consider the merits of possible sites or deal with the scale of need.
The attached draft Scoping Report has been prepared for the emerging Gypsy and Traveller DPD. This email notifies you that the document is subject to a statutory five week consultation, running between 12th October and noon 16th November 2018.
